Rationale

  • When building ChatGPT apps it's necessary to provide:
    • landing page
    • privacy policy
    • terms & conditions
  • Alpic platform is a convenient way to host a ChatGPT app and in production it serves the ./assets folder
  • But no in the dev mode

This PR

  • This PR addresses that
  • And allows you to see the contents of your assets folder in the dev mode

Greptile Overview

Greptile Summary

Adds support for serving the /assets folder in development mode, bringing feature parity with production mode where static assets (landing pages, privacy policies, terms & conditions) are already served from the ./assets directory.

  • Added router.use("/assets", express.static("assets")) to serve assets from project root in dev mode
  • Minor import reordering (no functional impact)
  • One typo in comment ("dv mode" instead of "dev mode")

Confidence Score: 5/5

  • This PR is safe to merge with minimal risk
  • The change is a straightforward addition of a single middleware line to serve static assets in dev mode, matching the production behavior. The relative path resolution is appropriate for the use case where the devtools run from the project root. Only a minor typo was found in a comment.
  • No files require special attention
