This PR introduces code contributions for the integration of GEOPM runtime system and the Variorum platform-agnostic, vendor-neutral library over the JSON interface to get node power. The integration has been designed and implemented by extending the IOGroup plugin abstraction of the PlatformIO component of the GEOPM service which is also shared by the GEOPM runtime in the stand-alone (i.e., without the service running) mode. This IOGroup plugin functionality has been introduced in the GEOPM v 2.0.0 release. Through this design, the GEOPM PlatformIO functionality uses Variorum instead of direct platform-specific low-level interfaces (e.g., MSRs on Intel, OCC sensors on IBM Power9 architectures) by using PlatformIO’s plugin load order feature.
