Our plugin scanner is optimized for fast scanning that eliminates extraneous library loading and instantiation on fast-scannable plugin formats. That achieves better UX in general, but we could also retrieve more plugin details such as category. It might be still possible to fast-scan on some plugin formats (e.g. LV2) but not sure if that applies everywhere.
