The musl adapter smoke downloads the previous-stable release binary via .well-known/latest.json. As of v5.260901.1 going stable, that binary is post-Wish-B — genie setup --codex no longer exists, so the real-PTY leg would fail at commander parse time on every future PR touching the adapter.

This drops that one step. The probe-mode contract (exit 0, byte-empty stderr) and the stateful seeding leg (v5.260726.9 regression) remain and fully cover the adapter's historical failure classes.

This was the single recorded follow-up for the next stable cut, carried in both skills-everywhere wish ledgers and the v5.260901.1 release-notes page.

The previous-stable binary this smoke downloads is now v5.260901.1
(post-Wish-B), where 'genie setup --codex' no longer exists — the leg
would fail at commander parse time on every future adapter PR. The
probe-mode and stateful seeding legs still cover the two historical
adapter failure classes.

Recorded as the one follow-up in the skills-everywhere-b/c ledgers and
the v5.260901.1 release notes.
