This is a useful feature addition that improves the usability of multi-page OCR outputs. Since concurrent execution completes pages in arbitrary order, storing results by job index before merging ensures the final merged document preserves the original page sequence. The feature is optional (--merge_output), so it doesn't change the existing behavior for current users.
