Experienced team, seems like a great product. Keen to support as best as possible. I’m not sure if I should recuse myself, as we have a commercial interest. But I provided some feedback online, which @dervoied built into his proposal already. |

Development Fund Proposal Submission
Proposal file:
/proposals/proposal-institutional-CLOB-perps.mdSummary
Ekiden.fi is a high-performance perpetual futures exchange deploying on the Canton Network, combining an off-chain CLOB with on-chain settlement to deliver institutional-grade trading infrastructure. The proposal introduces a shared, open-source trading primitive for the ecosystem, bringing immediate liquidity, partners, and users, while enabling other teams to build on a standardized execution layer or use the codebase to build their own.
Checklist
/proposals/proposal-institutional-CLOB-perps.mdNotes for Reviewers
Production-ready system: Ekiden is already fully built and operational, with integrated liquidity, Tier-1 market makers, and an active user base. This grant accelerates deployment, not experimentation.
Ecosystem coordination layer: The proposal is designed to unify multiple components of the Canton ecosystem — including vaults, collateral assets (cBTC), routing (Tradecraft), and strategy builders — into a single composable trading stack.
Immediate network impact: Partners and investors such as LayerZero, Flowdesk, Keyrock, GSR, and Chainlink bring potential liquidity, infrastructure, and distribution from day one.
Open-source public good: The full on-chain and off-chain trading stack will be open-sourced, enabling reuse by other teams (e.g., PixelPlex and Console Wallet), accelerating ecosystem development and standardizing trading infrastructure.
Composable liquidity layer: In collaboration with Tradecraft, Ekiden introduces a liquidity layer on top of the CLOB, enabling pooled capital to participate in execution and market making, improving capital efficiency across the ecosystem.
Institutional onboarding: Integration with Fordefi is underway, reducing friction for institutional capital to access Canton-based trading.
Public good alignment: The team is open to aligning long-term ownership of the protocol with the Canton ecosystem, including potential IP contribution to a foundation-led or community-governed structure.
