Summary

  • price the existing hosted self-serve plan at $5/month after the seven-day trial
  • add first-class daily and weekly rollup choices; weekly subscribers choose Monday-Sunday
  • persist cadence and weekday through additive SQLite migration with existing rows defaulting to daily
  • enforce due schedules at 8:00 AM in each subscriber's IANA timezone
  • expose the saved schedule and next delivery through confirmation and management flows
  • record cadence as consented, PII-free funnel analytics
  • make newpaperboy.com canonical while preserving paperboy.kaibuilds.com as a compatibility host
  • replace the stale $49 strategy and document required Stripe production settings without adding secrets

Validation

  • 67 pytest tests passed, including migration and weekly scheduler edge cases
  • Playwright product smoke passed: weekly selection, subscribe, confirmation, Stripe handoff, active trial, management status, unsubscribe, failures, mobile, privacy, and terms
  • product static checks passed
  • Ruff and diff checks passed
  • GitHub CI runs on Python 3.10 and 3.12

Production gate

Billing remains disabled until PAPERBOY_STRIPE_SECRET_KEY, PAPERBOY_STRIPE_PRICE_ID, and PAPERBOY_STRIPE_WEBHOOK_SECRET are configured with a real recurring $5/month Stripe price.
