Zalk
Zalks are enemies commonly seen in groups or as a squadron. In this mod, they spawn in groups of 5 (10 if the world is in Expert Mode).
When they spawn, they select their targets. They will not change targets after this.
Upon doing so, they move towards their target horizontally in a line. If one is about to pass along the player, it will move diagonally, aligning itself with the player vertically while also moving away horizontally. At this state, they will fire Bacterion Bullets towards their target.
Upon aligning with the player vertically, they will start retreating horizontally, nearly doubling their speed and fire rate.
Their retaliation style is Spray, triggered when they are defeated. The speed of this bullet is slower than most.
They have a chance to spawn in the Surface and Space. They will not spawn Underground.

Zalk is a variation of a Fan from the Gradius series. They are recurring enemies known for their grouped patterns which drops a Power Capsule only when every unit within the squadron is defeated. They were called Zalk in Gradius II.
They all have different movement patterns, but this mod implemented only the pattern as seen in the first Gradius game.
