I'm not sure what kind of a graph this is but I've found this interesting
becuase of the data that it represents.
This graph gives us a good represntation of how the countries are performing in
over a period of time for some of the most important attributes.
In total it has six indicators and compares and helps us understand the relations
between the different factors such as the effect of human population on co2 emissions,
education vs workplace equality amongst men and women, and living standards vs health.
In addition it also helps us compare these attributes aross different countries and
the overall world human development index.
I've played with the graph and made comparisions between the developed countries and
the third world countries and we can clearly notice a difference in living standards and
health and workplace equality but the co2 emission seem to be higher in the developed
countries.
The tool also gives the basic statistics of the data below and the ranking of the country
in the according to the human development index.

This is an amazing visualization of a human body anatomy in a 3D view
And you can view the human structure by staring with skin tissue to
filtering down to muscles, organs, organelles and just the skeleton. It is amazing how the body can be rotated 360 degress and zoomed in too
It probably has more features but need a subscription to look at it. This could be a next gen Electronic Health Record tool for physicians and also can be great tool for learning for all the healthcare service personnel involved with a patient

All By Myself?

Its a very interesting inforgraphic done by a person while living alone during COVID. The person decided to record every day moods, actions and interactions.
The inforgraphic is beautiful presentation of a person everyday life, hovering on the too tip give us if she interacted with somebody or hugged somebody. This was a really interesting and sweet inforgraphic.

The Largest Vocabulary In Hip Hop

There are three visualization in this page, the first one tells us
the number of unique words used by the hip hop stars from 1980's to 2019.
The lyrics were of the first 35,000 words of some of the top hip hop stars.
We can notice with the visualization that ~80% artists have unique words
between 3000 to 5000
The author designed a graph of the hip hop stars over a period of time which tells us
that a new artist is likely to have less unique words compared to the older ones.
The surprising part is the third graph where you notice that the country and rock
seem to have less unique words compared to hip-hop. Based on this visualization I've
was able to make two assumptions that the over a period of time the hip hop pop stars
have become less creative in terms of writing lyrics or must be the increase in
usage of more simplistic words.
The author used d3 library to create this visualizations and a convenience wrapper
called jetpack. I've read about it that it helps speeds up the process but didn't really
understand what that means

https://guns.periscopic.com/?year=2014

US - Gun Killings in 2018

This visualization tells us about the gun violence numbers in the year 2018
There were an astonishing 11,356 deaths due to gun violence in one year and
this number excludes the suicides committed by guns which sums up the number
to ~24,000 deaths. And it also estimates the stolen years of all the people
to be 472,332 which is a lot of years lost.
The lines in the line graph represents one indivdual person and a two tool tips
one represents their age when they died and the circumstance in which they died.
The second tool tip represents an estimated life expectancy of that person, if
they were alive and their probable cause of the natural death
There is a second view to the graph it represents the count of deaths by age. And
we can notice that no of deaths are higher between the age of 17 to 27 which
gives us clear idea of the impact of arms on teenagers and interstingly the no of
deaths amongsst 83 age group people seemed higher which might be old age abuse cases
that we hear about.
In addition, we can filter the data by gender, race, age group etc.
The data reveals some important points
YOUTH ARE LARGELY AT RISK
BLACK AMERICANS ARE KILLED DISPROPORTIONATELY
HANDGUNS CONTINUE TO BE THE MOST DEADLY
MEN AND BOYS ARE THE MAJORITY OF VICTIMS

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2017/business/women-pay-gap/

Can we talk about the gender pay gap?

Eventhough some people think gender pay is a myth.
The truth is that gender pay exists. The blog/researchers beyond this post indictaes that full time working women in general earn 20% less than men. The highest paid jobs are mostly held by men.
Interesting view, that some jobs where the perecentage of women increases the jobs become less interesting
the overall pay of the jobs tends to decrease.
I would like to quote "It says that the perceived worth of a job depends on which of the two sexes holds it."
Also the first dot graph indicates that difference in pay increases with more working hours
There is an interesting live infographic that shows the amount paid for women and men the time I spent on the webpage and it shows a significant differenct in pay

Vanishing tropical rainforests

Rainforest are home to atleast half the world's living species and feature rainfall throught the year. And as we scroll down the webpage it gives us the reality check how us humans are destroying 135,042 square meters of rainforest every two minutes.
Scrolling down it gives statistics by day, by week nd by year. Deforestration by day size of Manhattan, by week size of Lond, UK andby year size of belgium.
More scrolling down, there is a box plot that depicts the amount of deforestration in Amazon, Orinoco, Andes have degraded so much since 2001 due to reduction in thickness the sunshine beams down altering the temperature and conditions of rainforest ecosystem.
And in the end, there is clear depiction as to what how much did continent's rainforest degraded.
