Build from sources
Before proceeding with building DBeaver, ensure that your system meets the following prerequisites:
-
Java 25: DBeaver currently uses OpenJDK 25 as the default Java Development Kit. Make sure you have JDK 25 or a newer version installed.
Important: OpenJDK is an open-source version of Java. This means you do not need to purchase a separate Java license to use DBeaver.
-
Maven: Used to build the project. Download it from the official Maven website.
-
Git: Needed for cloning the DBeaver repository. If you do not have Git installed, visit the official Git website for download and installation instructions.
-
Internet Access: Required for downloading dependencies and other necessary components during the build process.
-
Create a folder for your repositories and navigate to it:
mkdir dbvr-community && cd dbvr-community
-
Clone all required repositories into the same folder:
git clone https://github.com/dbeaver/dbeaver-common.git git clone https://github.com/dbeaver/dbeaver.git git clone https://github.com/dbeaver/dbvr.git git clone https://github.com/dbeaver/idea-rcp-launch-config-generator.git git clone https://github.com/dbeaver/dbeaver-osgi-common.git
Note: all repositories must be in the same folder so the relative paths in the Maven build resolve correctly.
-
Navigate to the dbvr repository and build the product:
cd dbvr mvn -f product/aggregate/pom.xml \ -Dheadless-platform \ -Pproduct-dbvr-ce \ -Dbuild.all-environments \ package
After the build process completes, the binaries can be found in the
dbvr/product/community/target/products/ directory.
