The previous week we had our presentation to introduce the team and the domain research and we were able to receive not only some feedback from our tutors but also gather further clarification of what we should be working on through the progress of other teams.

During the presentation, we have clarified the range of domain and the target audience, as we have been issues with the target audience regarding specifying the group. Now our problem space is: immigrants often meet difficulty in cultural integration.

As the concept proposal has uploaded to the team GitHub and will be used for reference on the general schedule of work and definition of the target audience, the domain research and existing solutions. We are going to overcome the culture barrier by using local knowledge and local people to help assimilate. We decided to develop a mobile application adapt to communication and navigation functions. The details of the application will be determined in the following contact sessions.

12 Oct:

Before the contact we had a short meeting of shall we bring something such as idea wrap-ups regards on the next assessment to Lorna or Daniel for tomorrow and making sure if we are underfed a right place of the process.

During the contact:

David discussed the core function of the mobile application.

  1. Chat between users (host <-> guest)
  2. Translation functions while communication
  3. An interactive map that users can walk around and find pit stops the interaction form was inspired by Pokémon go. The map will adapt information of the city and hidden tips that as a guest, they would not normally go.
  4. language change option where all information is changed into their preferred language
