Outcome

Adopt the accepted Empathy .gitignore baseline in Filament as the first pinned manual consumer pilot for egohygiene/.github#32.

Inspected starting point

• Filament main: 95cb3ef04b1664bc51ccc666524dd7f5eb04127b; 19 documentation files, no existing ignore files, language projects, CI workflows, or competing PRs.
• Architecture and DECISIONS.md leave the IaC engine/provider undecided. No language/build overlay or infrastructure-state rule is justified yet.
• Accepted source: Empathy foundation 1.1.0 at b44f798bb49259f9f48416b4ffebde1103e135c0, the verified merge of fix(foundation): 🔧 resolve typing and preserve runtime guards empathy#90. Subsequent Empathy main changes are report-only.

Bounded implementation

• Adopt the 27-rule universal baseline at the repository root, composed through the accepted upstream planner.
• Record the consumer selection (universal profile, root scope, no overlays or local additions), deterministic plan, immutable provenance, and manual update/rollback steps.
• Reuse the pinned upstream behavior harness against Filament's actual file. Check intentionally visible files as well as ignored local state.
• Link the adoption record from README so future agents can find the process without adding a new required agent file.

These supporting records prove only the .gitignore pilot; they do not claim that Filament implements every artifact in the foundation catalog.

Dependencies — reviewed with prerequisites

Satisfied prerequisite: accepted baseline/composer and validation fixes in egohygiene/empathy#85, egohygiene/empathy#86, egohygiene/empathy#87, egohygiene/empathy#88, and egohygiene/empathy#90. The consumed artifact is the immutable source commit above; no release publication is required for this explicitly manual pilot.

Holon materialization, EgoLint reusable conformance, egohygiene/relay#5 and egohygiene/relay#49 integration, and Pace fleet adoption remain downstream. Existing Empathy MegaLinter repairs are deferred to EgoLint/Relay adoption as directed by the maintainer. Filament #3 (IaC vertical slice) and #4 (ADR backfill) do not block this file pilot and retain their separate scope/gates.

Acceptance

• The active file matches the pinned planner output and the accepted source hash.
• All 27 rules come from the universal source; no unsupported local/engine selection is introduced.
• Actual Git checks prove ignored local state, visible templates/shared configuration/lockfiles/architecture, and the relevant negation/nested-file limits.
• Record provenance, repeatable verification, review-before-update behavior, rollback, and future IaC state/secret-rule selection.
• Update the master epic with the PR, results, remaining integration, and exact resume action.
• Maintainer reviews and merges the bounded PR; verify the merge before calling the pilot accepted.

Impact

ADR not required: this consumes an accepted file baseline without changing Filament's architecture or selecting an IaC engine. Roadmap-Step: FIL-Q02; supporting repository-foundation work only, with no claim that the blocked identity/license gate is complete.

PR #6 merged on 2026-09-18 at 14:44:53 UTC as c3eb64b8087face7504e7571dc8396c19525649f. Live main has the exact tested tree 4dd6c6b8d3d71dc0338806a399305168c56a518e; no additional review comments or decisions were present. This bounded manual pilot is accepted.

• Root file: 27 universal rules, no overlays or local additions. Source/output hashes and the accepted immutable commit are recorded in the PR and adoption record.
• Pinned manifest/plan checks, byte equality, independent plan regeneration, all 14 Git behavior tests, local links, formatting, Markdown, and staged diff checks pass. All 23 candidate tracked paths remain visible.
• Filament has no configured workflow. The PR head reports no Actions runs or commit statuses at handoff; validation is local proof, not CI enforcement.
• The required license metadata is NOASSERTION; license selection remains separate. No infrastructure engine or shared validator is selected or added.
• The master epic now links this issue/PR and records pending Holon/EgoLint/Relay/Pace work and the deferred MegaLinter repairs.

Next: the file-contract epic continues with egohygiene/holon#58, followed by egohygiene/egolint#61 and egohygiene/empathy#92. Shared Relay execution and egohygiene/pace#30 remain separate pending stages. This issue stays closed because its manual-pilot acceptance is verified; it does not claim the complete organization rollout is finished.
