knip.json is set to "include": ["dependencies"], which disables unused-file/export detection. Widening it would have caught the recently-removed dead getModelConfig().
Task: Widen the include config to enable unused-file/export detection, run knip, and report what it surfaces. It may be noisy at first, so the goal is a look-before-you-leap: post the findings so we can decide what to fix vs. ignore before flipping it on for good.
Good first issue: low-stakes, mostly investigation + a short report.
