With us finally committing to EnergySec with Forky I think we can go without the Wyren, as it really has no reason to exist alongside the Deckard

(I always did consider the Wyrens existence to be mostly redundant)

It is mostly a traitor weapon, that unlike any other ballistics available in the uplink can deal radiation or incendiary damage. Not only that, the reason it was added to the vault in the first place is for it to be a weapon traitors who get promoted to heads to have a weapon they can legally carry around without much IC suspicion (it's command/sec contra).

It is mostly a traitor weapon, that unlike any other ballistics available in the uplink can deal radiation or incendiary damage.

In my opinion it's mostly redundant as a traitor weapon specifically because it uses a unique cartridge, if the idea is to make it so traitors have access to incendiary and uranium damage types than just being able to buy .45 speedloaders/ammo boxes with those would achieve the same effect without needing to add a entire new weapon and ammo cartrige.

Not only that, the reason it was added to the vault in the first place is for it to be a weapon traitors who get promoted to heads to have a weapon they can legally carry around without much IC suspicion (it's command/sec contra).

That is a very specific use case that I do not think I have ever seen actually used in that way, and if a command traitor wants a weapon they can legally carry... the deckard is right there. Not to mention all the tools and equipment at their disposal just because they are also a department head. So I think it's redundant in that way too

Also a reminder that the people who most often use the Wyren are not traitors but regular command members, and its been also considered quite questionable about the vault haveing two firearms that are accesable by general command
