Mobile View: Page Reset and Filter Bar Closing After Search #8466

Description

@dvernon5

Overview

We need to fix the mobile view search behavior on the Projects page so that the page maintains its scroll position and the filter bar remains open after a user performs a search. Currently, when users search for items on the Project page in mobile view, the page jumps back to the top and the filter bar closes, forcing users to scroll back down and reopen the filter bar to see their results.

Action Items

  • Investigate the mobile view search function to identify what's causing the page reset
  • Implement scroll position retention so the page stays in place after search is executed
  • Prevent the filter bar from automatically closing after search is applied in mobile view
  • Verify that search results display correctly without requiring additional scrolling
  • Ensure desktop view functionality remains unaffected

Resources/Instructions

  • Note: This issue only affects mobile view. Desktop view works correctly.

    Hello @ldaws003!

Please add an update comment using the below template (even if you have a pull request). Afterwards, remove
the status: To Update! label and add the status: Updated label.

    1. Progress: What is the current status of your issue? What have you completed and what is left to do?
    2. Blockers: Explain any difficulties or errors encountered.
    3. Availability: How much time will you have this week to work on this issue?
    4. ETA: When do you expect this issue to be completed?
    5. Pictures (optional): Add any pictures of the visual changes made to the site so far.

If you need help, be sure to either: 1) place your issue in the "Questions / In Review" status column of the
Project Board and ask for help at your next meeting; 2) put a status: Help Wanted label on your issue
and pull request; or 3) put up a request for assistance on the team's hfla-site Slack channel.

Please note that including your questions in the issue comments- along with screenshots, if applicable-
will help us to help you. Here and here are examples of well-formed questions.
