Prerequisites

  1. Be a member of Hack for LA. (There are no fees to join.) If you have not joined yet, please follow the steps on our Getting Started page and attend an onboarding session.
  2. You have already read our How to Contribute to Hack for LA Guide.

Overview

We need to update Tools information so that visitors to the website can find projects that use specific tools.

Action Items

  • In your IDE, open the _projects/home-unite-us.md file.
  • Observe the existing syntax of the front matter block 1 in the file.
  • Find the tools variable and remove the following text: 
    Style Components
  • Find the technologies variable. Add the following text at the bottom of the current list: 
    Styled Components
  • Verify the changes by viewing the following in your local environment with Docker, and include 'after' screenshots with your pull request (see the before image below to understand what we are looking for in the after images):
  • Projects page with filter 2
  • Home Unite Us page 3

    Is footnote 2 in this issue correct?

    I cross referenced this with a similar issue #8570 and think it should say:

    post completion search results should show Home Unite Us when you use this filter https://localhost:4000/projects/?technologies=Styled+Components

    instead of:

    post completion search results should show Food Oasis when you use this filter https://localhost:4000/projects/?tools=Style+Components

    Because

    • This issue is about the Home Unite Us page
    • The tool name is being moved to the technologies variable
    • The name is being corrected from Style Components to Styled Components
