Installation

1. Install wine and VARA. Follow this step-by-step recipe or run this script or follow this guide
2. Install rigctld from hamlib
3. Install varanny
4. Setup udev rules so that USB devices can be mapped by name
5. Use and edit configuration for linux
6. Setup varanny to auto start
7. Setup a WiFi hotspot

Troubleshooting

If rigctld can't access usb port, add the current user to the dialout group:

$ sudo usermod -a -G dialout $USER

To verify if current user is in the group:

$ getent group dialout
