@alexdima Any update on when this is likely to get merged? It's been annoying me for years so it's nice to see that there's something in the pipeline to fix it. |

Partially addresses #141169 . I would like to first ship this for Linux and then wait for some real world user feedback. If all goes well, macOS would be next.
