I just started using the Photos app, which allows to view single images, and I assume it is this viewer that actually renders the images.

When I select the slideshow, the images are shown only for a few seconds - I'd like to change that. Not hardcoded but on the UI.

On top of that the preview generation on my system takes quite long (not caused by the viewer), but in effect I am watching the gray placeholder for an image longer than I actually see the image. How about this: Until there is a new image to show, just continue showing the last one?

    All in all I am looking more time at placeholders than at the actual pictures. Hence my idea to display the last image until the next one has fully loaded. As a result the placeholder would not be shown during slideshow mode at all.

    Would be nice indeed to keep showing the current picture until the next upcoming one is loaded!
    Let's make this issue about that then.
    Btw, keep in mind opening one issue for multiple problems are not something we do here. It makes it harder to manage :)

    Thank you for the suggestion and for taking the time to report it.

    The Nextcloud Viewer is no longer developed as a standalone app. Its code has moved to the @nextcloud/viewer library, which is now maintained at https://github.com/nextcloud-libraries/nextcloud-viewer. Because of this, we will not add any further enhancements to this repository and are closing open feature requests here.

    If you are still interested in this feature, please open a new feature request in the library repository:

    Feel free to link back to this issue so the existing discussion is not lost.
