The changes look good, and I made some adjustments. I can not proceed with this PR yet because: Malicious fake download buttons are unfortunate, but they aren't the biggest issue, and even the sites mentioned in our wiki may have these button in file hosts that they use. Like you mentioned, using uBlock Origin blocks them already, and if it didn't, that can be reported to the uAssets repository. We'll need actual proof like VirusTotal scans, etc. to verify they are actually malicious. |
Thanks for the feedback! For GameRanger, it's a well-known platform that supports over 700 games, mostly older ones or games without official servers anymore, like Age of Mythology and Age of Empires. I’ve used it a lot in the past, and it’s been reliable, so I don’t think it really needs any additional testing. Voobly, on the other hand, I haven’t used as much. I know it focuses more on older strategy games and has some features like anticheat that GameRanger doesn’t offer, but I can’t speak as much from personal experience there. As for MRPCGamer, I’m not sure how to properly scan the games for viruses or deal with false positives made by antivirus software, so I’ll leave that part to you guys. |
I'm going to proceed with this PR, except without the MRPCGamer part, as I haven't found any futile evidence of viruses or malware. |

Littel background about mrpcgamer : MRPCGamer is run by the same people behind Game3rb. The creator of MRPCGamer also designed the theming for Game3rb, and both sites share the same admins, mods, and uploaders. Game3rb has a larger community.
Both sites display malicious fake download links when ad blockers are turned off, but with ad blockers enabled, they work fine.
Some old posts in Arabic are inactive. Although I still use both sites and find them useful, they are considered unsafe by others for unknown reasons.
On MRPCGamer, game requests can be made via Discord, and uploads happen quickly. However, their Discord server has a limited staff, with only one support member and two admins.
Unlike Game3rb, which does not upload games that are subject to DMCA claims, MRPCGAMER upload these games.
