ACIP's Current Workflow

Currently, each page is typed twice, compared twice, and then these comparisons are compared. This system was put into place to minimize typing and correction errors. The various stages of this workflow are designated with letters. Two different people type in A and B, then two other people correct A against B to render C and D, and finally another person compares C and D to create the final file, labeled E. Below is a diagram to make this clearer:

A Streamlined Workflow Enabled by This Software

The current strategy of typing each page twice, by two different typists, will not be changed. The correction task, however, will be streamlined so that each typist has a chance to correct his or her own work. Each typist cooperates with his or her "partner typist" to make sure they both input the text correctly. This methodology has not been tested in the field, but it is hoped that by having our input operators correct their own mistakes, a greater amount of personal responsibility will be fostered, and the skill level of the typists will increase. Here is a diagram of the new streamlined process:
