While working on a new Gatsby project I decided to use Firebase for Authentication. So I thought I would share the process in this repository.

Set up Firebase project

Set up environment varaibles Note that environment variables that need to be available in the browser have to be prefixed with GATSBY_ Note there are 2 sets of environment vars 1 for Firebase and 1 for gatsby-firesource plugin see sample .env file

Setup Firebase cloud functions Repository of cloud functions for this project

Run npm install

Run gatsby develop
