GTorrentViewer README ===================== GTorrentViewer Copyright (c) 2024 Alejandro Claro. (ported to GTK+3 by rizalmart) This program is released under the GPL with the additional exemption that compiling, linking, and OpenSSL. You may provide binary packages linked to the OpenSSL libraries, provided that all other requirements of the GPL are met. See file COPYING for details. What is GTorrentViewer? ======================= GTorrentViewer is a GTK-based viewer and editor for BitTorrent meta files. It is able to retrieve information from trackers, check files, show detailed information, and modify .torrent files without having to start downloading. Purpose ======= The purpose of GTorrentViewer is to give the ability to see and modify all the possible information from .torrent files without having to start downloading and the ability to see in real time the current number of seeds and peers on the torrent, so you will always know the status before start the download. Requirements: ============= Version 0.2: * GTK+ >= 2.4 (http://www.gtk.org). * libCURL (http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/). Version 0.1: * GTK+ >= 2.4 (http://www.gtk.org). * libglade >= 2.0 (ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/libglade/) * libCURL (http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/). * libSSL (http://www.openssl.org/). Compiling and Installation: =========================== Type this: CFLAGS=-O3 ./configure make Become root and type: make install Other Options ============= To get a full list of compile options, type: ./configure --help If you use a custom libcurl installation: ./configure --with-curl-config=PATH If you want to change the system pixmaps directory: ./configure --with-pixmapsdir=DIR If you want to change the gnome/kde applications (.desktop files) directory: ./configure --with-desktopdir=DIR FAQ: ==== Q1: I get the following message: configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool. What do I do about it? A: You need to make sure that you have the right variant of the xml-parser-pm package to match the Perl version for your system. Try running perl -MCPAN -e shell as root and in the cpan prompt type install XML::Parser.
