The SIAM-JUIT Chapter is a student-led organization at Jaypee University of Information Technology, focused on cultivating a passion for applied mathematics, computational science, and interdisciplinary knowledge-sharing. As an official student chapter of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), we are part of a global community promoting the advancement of mathematics in industry and academia.
We welcome all JUIT students, regardless of their academic background, to join us on a journey through the fascinating world of mathematics, computing, and research.
The SIAM-JUIT Chapter is dedicated to:
- Encouraging the use of mathematics to solve real-world problems.
- Building a strong foundation in applied and computational mathematics.
- Providing opportunities for professional growth, research, and development.
We host regular workshops, seminars, and guest lectures, and participate in hackathons, coding competitions, and research initiatives. Our activities are designed to enhance members' skills in mathematical analysis, programming, and problem-solving.
Our chapter engages in various initiatives, including but not limited to:
- Workshops: Practical training sessions on topics like MATLAB, Python for Data Science, Machine Learning, and more.
- Hackathons & Coding Competitions: Real-world problem-solving opportunities, often focused on mathematical and computational challenges.
- Research & Development: Collaborative projects where members can work with peers and mentors on innovative applications of math and technology.
- Events & Guest Lectures: Insights from industry professionals, academics, and SIAM representatives to broaden our understanding of applied mathematics.
Stay up-to-date with our activities on our social media channels (linked below).
