React.js was used to develop the frontend interface and we leveraged webcam and speech-to-text libraries to record and transcribe user responses. For the backend, we used Flask for the server, Cohere Classify API to analyze the user responses, and SMTP/SSL for the email service.
CareerCue's purpose came from recognizing the challenges and anxiety many prospective applicants face when preparing for job interviews. The entire process can be stressful, and many people don't have the resources to know how to best prepare for the questions that may be asked.
CareerCue is made for anyone who is looking to improve or polish their interview skills, including beginners entering the workforce for the first time, underprivileged demographics who have limited access to career resources, mothers looking to return to their careers after maternity leave, or people who are trying to improve their communication skills.
CareerCue provides a database of commonly asked behavioural interview questions across various industries. You can practice your responses by recording yourself and getting instant feedback to improve your answers. The app provides customized feedback so users can see their strengths and weaknesses based on tone, clarity, word choice, and timing. Users can switch questions, restart the recording, try the same question again, and send a summary of their answers and feedback to their email for later review.
