Welcome to Terminux, an open source terminal made in C# and .NET and it is free for use.

This app is built with C# 7.3 using the .NET 4.6.2 Framework with Rechni's SSH Framework

Getting Started

To start using this project, you'll need one of the followings:

Prerequisites

  • Visual Studio 2022 and the .NET Desktop package.
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Installer Projects.
  • .NET 4.6.2 Targeting Pack.
  • A good PC that can run VS 2022.

Installation

  1. Go to the official Microsoft Visual Studio, Scroll down until you see Visual Studio, now click on "Download Visual Studio", Once you click on the button, there's a menu shows 3 options: Visual Studio Community 2022, Visual Studio Enterprise 2022, and Visual Studio Professional 2022. We will need to choose the first one, Due to license issues on the Enterprise and the Professional one.

  2. There will be a file downloaded, Click that, and the UAC Prompt will show up,

  3. Click next, next and it will install, make sure after the Visual Studio installer installed and opens automatically (If not then open it manually.)

  4. Now you'll need is the .NET Desktop development click it, and click on the tab that's called "Individual Components ", click it and find .NET Framework 4.6.2 Targeting Pack and the SDK,

Note: if NET Framework 4.6.2 Targeting Pack and the SDK are checked already, you're good to click on Install on Downloading if mot, then click on then and click on Install on Downloading,

  1. You'll need to wait for a while due to the speed of your PC, and Internet, after that's installed then go back to the repository and, find a button that says code, click it and then click on Download zip, after that's downloaded, Extract it into an important folder and open the extracted folder

  2. Open the .sln file and you're good to go. to build the program click on this button, and click on Program.cs and press CTRL+B at the same time, it will build and you're good to go, add any command or anything. Screen Shot

Usage

To see how this terminal works you can see all the commands:

  • uptrun 'app' - UptRun is a command that opens the app that is from the installs folder.

  • write 'any text' - The write command prints out the text that you have specified, nothing too special.

  • upt install 'a link containing a zip file that uses the Console or the Terminal ' - This command is really important for installing any apps, Neofetch for Terminux is officially in the app

  • cd C:\to\a\directory - This command makes the terminal go to a specific location.
