Welcome to the GREAT-DES wiki!
In short:
-
Single ellipticity measurement: 99% successful and returns an e that matches the input value within 0.003e.
-
Ring test measurement: m < 0.003 , gamma^add_i < 3×10−4
-
DCx or other 'all-in' simulation m < 0.003

- Have as much transparency in our tests as possible. It should be easy for everyone in the WLWG to review the code and comment on it. Therefore, we would like all codes for simulations and results interpretation (m,c metrics, etc) to be public within DES.
- We want our simulation codes to be reliable and easy to use. The code would be mostly GalSim scripts and additional modules - it's easy to produce simulations with GalSim config. GalSim will soon be the most validated image generation code.
- It should be easy to (repeatedly) run the tests and interpret it's results for everyone in the WLWG. We want to produce the simulations for our tests and put in on NERSC, just next to the DES data. NERSC is the default system where our codes will be ran on DES data, so all pipelines are expected to be installed there.
- It's best if the developers of the pipelines run their codes themselves, as it is the quickest and most reliable way to do it. When we want to test a pipeline, we ask the owners of the code to run it on images we generated at NERSC.
- It should be easy for the owners of the pipelines to (repeatedly) check the results for their codes on the simulated data. The owners of the pipeline may be in the development phase and may want to run on our simulations themselves - in that case we would make it clear how to use the results scripts. The scripts should be well documented and easy to use.
