Release Notes
Trilinos has a policy for collecting release notes that leverages the label feature in GitHub Issues. Developers who submit or review a PR containing changes that should be considered for inclusion in the release notes apply a label to the PR corresponding to the next release version of Trilinos. For example, the tag indicating a potential release note for the 15.1 release is “15.1 release note”. This process allows 2 opportunities to identify changes warranting a release note: when the PR is created, and when the PR is reviewed. After the label is set, the Trilinos Operational Leader most closely associated with the pull request is responsible for evaluating the change for possible inclusion in the release notes.
