LUTs consumption difference between OS and WS

I am currently synthesizing Gemmini for a FPGA, and I would like to know why LUT consumption is so different between OS and WS (e.g. WS 8x8 = 115,000 LUTs vs OS 8x8 = 134,000 LUTs) ?

as descripted in paper, for WS dataflow, can remove the 32-bit accumulators within each PE. meybe cause LUT descrease.
