Web Bluetooth describes an API to discover and communicate with devices over the Bluetooth 4 wireless standard using the Generic Attribute Profile (GATT).

FWIW, during the Web Bluetooth CG F2F in TPAC, we discussed bringing Web Bluetooth, WebNFC and Web USB (separately or together) to the Device & Sensors Working Group.

WebUSB was used for a security exploit (bypassing browser-based protections), and similar architectural problems may exist with Web Bluetooth.
