Our API platform for Kubernetes (APK) product offers a comprehensive solution for deploying and managing APIs in a Kubernetes environment. Our product releases come in the form of Helm charts, which provide an easy way to install the necessary components in a Kubernetes cluster. Additionally, we have already tagged and released the required Docker images to the Docker registry, streamlining the installation process. With APK, you can quickly and securely deploy your APIs in Kubernetes, making it easier to manage your API infrastructure and streamline your development workflows.

What's New On WSO2 API Platform For Kubernetes 1.1.0 RC2

  • APK Control Plane support (Bring APIM Control plane):

    API Manager 4.3.0 as the control plane for APK:

    APIs will be exclusively created from the APK data plane. Once created, these APIs will appear in the Control Plane (API Publisher) as read-only APIs.
    Users will have the ability to add documentation, perform various portal-related configurations, and publish the API to the developer portal.
    The API creation functionality will be disabled in the API Publisher under this mode.

    APK as a gateway to API Manager 4.3.0

    APK serves as a distinct gateway environment for API Manager.
    Users have the ability to create and deploy APIs directly to the APK gateway via the API Publisher.
    Control Plane API Management functionalities remain intact with limitations.

  • Enhanced API Authentication Support: Introducing Mutual SSL for APIs.

  • Extended GraphQL Capabilities: Comprehensive support for both query and mutation operations in APIs.

  • Expanded API Protocol Support: Now supporting HTTP in addition to the initial HTTPS.

  • Advanced Monitoring Capabilities: Prometheus integration within the APK data plane for improved monitoring.

  • API subscription and Application support in DataPlane

  • Gateway environment support (to support virtual environment)

  • Semantic API versioning support for APIs.

  • API Analytics enhancement to work with Moesif analytics out of the box
