Using KinkShell
Once you have successfully logged in to KinkShell within FFXIV, you're ready to get started. The home window should look something like this:
To create a new KinkShell, click on +New Shell
. A popup will appear asking for a name. Enter any name you'd like, and then press Create Shell
.
You should see your newly-created shell in your list of available shells.
The Edit
button next to a shell indicates that you are its owner. Along with the ability to delete the shell, you have the option to add other KinkShell users. Clicking on Edit
brings up this window:
To add someone to your KinkShell, enter their KinkShell User ID into the textbox. If you want that user to be allowed to send Intiface commands inside the shell, check the Allow Commands?
checkbox, or leave it blank. Click Add User
to finish.
Note: Users will not be added nor removed until you click Save Changes at the bottom of the window!
To join a KinkShell session, click on Join
. A new window will appear with several options, depending on your access level in the shell.
While your name is listed in the "Connected Users" section, you are connected to the shell. As new users join, you will see their names included in the list.
This section appears if you have permission to send Intiface commands in this shell. You will see a drop-down menu to select a KinkShell member you wish to target with your command, or you can choose "Everyone" to send the command to the entire group. This includes yourself.
Below the drop-down menu, you will find a list of saved patterns. These patterns are the Intiface commands themselves. You can use the 2 default commands, or you can use the Pattern Builder tool at the top of the window to create your own. Clicking on one of these buttons will dispatch the command to the user you have selected.
The chat window is below the Command Center, and is where you can send encrypted messages to the other connected users in the Shell. You can even customize your chat color identity in the KinkShell configuration window!
The final section in the window is the Safety Center. Use these settings to enable or disable Intiface commands being targeted at you, in case you're needing a break.
