Vision
This epic will enable users to upload assets manually and via drag and drop. Also, the user will be able to move files and folders via drag and drop in the table view and in the folder tree and in between both. Additionally users will be able to select one or may files and be able to access actions in the command bar.
Problem or opportunity
Users have grown accustomed to move their files into and around new systems easily such as with drag and drop in addition to using traditional means like file upload/file picker. They also know how to select files and work with them indicidually and in bulk, so they expect that same functionality.
Solution
By ensuring the new content drive supports actions and the traditional way of uploading files and also drag and drop, not just for upload but for moving files around, we will provide our users with the expected functionality a digital asset manager supports.
Positioning
MVP would be supporting manual upload via a file picker dialog, but by enabling drag and drop for upload and for move, we are doing a little extra to make sure we meet standard expectations for ease of use and productivity our users have when manipulating files in modern digital asset management tools.
