[Task] Import Elsa 3 Templates source and history without publishing #8748

Closed

Description

@sfmskywalker

Delivery program: #8740. Native parent Feature: #8744; Epic #8197. This task starts only after Apps #8746 is accepted. Operations owner: #8741.

Objective

Import the Elsa 3 .NET project Templates repository into templates/, retaining original source/history/attribution and the Elsa.Templates package plus elsa-server, elsa-studio and elsa-combined commands. Deliver source acceptance with real isolated pack/install/generate/build proof; publishing remains separate.

Current evidence and adoption

Readiness discovery pinned main 8917597: 65 tracked files; package 3.9.0; 20 existing option-matrix smoke cases; source release tags 3.8.0/3.9.0 retained. Refresh all branches/tags/open PRs/issues before import and again at closeout. No matching import PR was found at discovery.

Source PR #9 (5dc2c5c) adds the combined-server custom-element registration missing on current main. The API is confirmed in Studio release 3.9.0. Retain its original commit/author and carry the reviewed applicable change after the immutable original-main import. Do not silently copy a stale source branch over newer main and do not automatically close the donor PR. Preserve issue #3 as an attributed report; do not claim AmbiguousMatchException fixed without reproduction evidence.

Scope

  • Immutable original import with all tracked paths/modes/blobs mapped to templates/; retain all reachable source commits/tips including open contribution heads, original IDs and authors. Follow with a separate minimal integration delta.
  • Inspect original instructions, product solution, independent packaging and embedded starter projects. Preserve all tracked sample/standalone assets with explicit dispositions; embedded template .csproj files are data, not root build projects.
  • Isolate inherited Core MSBuild/CPM/source-proof/NuGet restore behavior locally. Preserve package and target/dependency identities. Do not add source project references or join a lockstep release stream.
  • Correct package source-repository metadata for Core commit provenance and corresponding assertions; retain original donor metadata in the original import/history.
  • Move smoke temporary workspaces outside the consolidated checkout so generated projects cannot inherit Core policy, preserve isolated dotnet template hives and deterministic cleanup.
  • Add correct root/product solution/filter, navigation, AGENTS/developer commands and narrowly triggered nonpublishing CI. Retain nested source publishing metadata inert; do not activate upload/trust/updater/retirement jobs.
  • Use current source acceptance matrix (20 smoke cases plus meaningful applicable-fix regression), real local pack, isolated installation, generation and generated-output builds. Supported default is released Elsa 3.9.0; history coverage of 3.8.x is separate and does not invent runtime support. Record any actual unsupported option/provider failure.

Acceptance

  • Exact original tree/mapped assets and source history/refs verified; current arrivals and contributor work explicitly reconciled.
  • Elsa.Templates identity, three commands, supported options and product release independence preserved; all tracked inputs retained or explicitly dispositioned.
  • Root/product build/solution/filter/docs and nonpublishing CI integrate correctly without compiling embedded starter data or activating publishers.
  • Real local pack/install/generate/build lifecycle and existing supported smoke matrix pass with exact-head hosted evidence; failures and skips remain explicit.
  • Fresh author-independent Elsa3CodeReview APPROVE/HIGH, required current-head Greptile 5/5, advisory disposition and applicable CI pass before normal shared/main integration. Lead independently reads back source tree/parents/mapping and final freshness.
  • Closeout links [Program] Transfer Elsa 3 releases and retire source repositories #8741 and 3.10 cut gate: real tag publish still packs Core only; Studio npm pair has no publish job #8725 for publisher/full release work; no publication, deployment, archive or Elsa 4 completion is implied.

Execution

One active delivery task across board #52. Use /implement, isolated worktree and per-slice branch from latest origin/codex/elsa-integration-program; adopt matching PRs. Sol 6.1 High implementation, Luna 6 Extra High bounded independent review; lead integration/QA and public writes. Initial checkpoint: refreshed source/history topology, exact mapping, concrete integration plan and cost-ordered validation commands before editing. Preserve canonical dirty checkouts. No source repository writes, push/publication/merge from worker. Avoid repeating expensive gates for verifier/docs-only fixes; native CI supplies coherent exact-head evidence. Apps source-restore and selector lessons must be verified for Templates too.

Accepted source slice

PR #8750 merged into shared at 5403eda00557c20e39306863d53213afb7308e55. Actual-main integration and final cutoff remain #8749/#8740; operational delivery remains #8741.

Templates #8748 is the sole active delivery Task after Apps source acceptance. Board: In Progress / Assigned / Pending. Sol6.1High worker owns the first bounded mapping checkpoint; lead retains integration, public writes, review and QA.

Isolated branch codex/elsa-templates-source-8748 starts from accepted shared merge 1d5bc1e1deaba8f2d90920109061a3504a945106, in /Users/sipke/.codex/worktrees/elsa-templates-8748-delivery/elsa-core-main. Clean HEAD/status verified. The actual Git worktree is valid; app registration and one retry hit the existing100attachment limit, which does not change isolation or require touching user checkouts.

Fresh donor main is unchanged at 891759727db053a37911b616ace4a5599e1005d0; advertised release refs and sole open sourcePR9 5dc2c5cf4eb6ed17b2228912f712993e48adb56b are recorded. No matching Core Templates import PR exists. First checkpoint precedes edits and covers complete original-tree/history mapping, retained contribution attribution and applicable PR9 registration fix, local MSBuild/CPM/NuGet inheritance, independent template-pack/solution boundaries, isolated generated workspaces/hives and concrete20case pack/install/generate/build validation.

No publisher activation, package upload, donor PR closure, retirement, archive, full release certification or Elsa4 work is assigned. Future candidate/archive compatibility remains with #8741/#8220. Final source audit and actual-main integration follow Templates; the program remains open.

Templates implementation checkpoint: the immutable import f1aaec368a9ad317093c71c993fb51eca2544e9e preserves the exact original tree 0de85b0ca906f6be6559998768378f5c9fb03bb6, all 65 path/mode/blob mappings and all 41 original commits. The lead independently verified the eight ancestry parents and all retained ref commits. Applicable donor PR #9 is a separate attributed application commit 79469e023b7a26b0ff6ca3a5a64104f654466ea2; its original commit and author timestamp remain retained.

The separate Templates product solution/filter, scoped build/restore policy, outside-checkout test workspaces, root navigation and nonpublishing CI are implemented locally and undergoing review. Initial cheap checks passed: solution/filter generation, source-impact boundaries, retained publisher guards, Ruby dependency census and actionlint. Provenance/corruption tests and review fixes are still being completed. No native .NET or Docker proof has run locally on the overloaded shared host; exact-head hosted restore/build and all 20 real pack/install/generate/build cases remain required before acceptance.

Fresh donor main/release refs and outstanding source contributions are unchanged. The 35 accepted Core/Studio/Extensions release refs still match #8624 with no new unregistered 3.8.x/3.9.0 refs; Templates retains its 3.8.0 and 3.9.0 history. #8748 remains the only active delivery Task. #8749 stays queued for final source cutoff, actual-main integration and complete source closeout; operational work stays with #8741.

Templates PR #8750 is open at 4752f5e7d4159fe7fb2aeb4a07e2c971ff62fc19. Independent source reviews approve that commit, but hosted lifecycle verification found a real build failure: 20 starter cases executed, 13 passed and 7 combined-host cases failed with CS1061 at the adopted custom-element registration. No merge or acceptance is claimed. The correction is in progress in the isolated Templates worktree; exactly one delivery task remains active. Owned expensive superseded CI runs were cancelled to avoid duplicate proof work.

Current Templates source checkpoint: PR #8750 is at 02ee01951e44ba8ce83a10750a25c11bcee25947, with fresh independent Spec and Standards APPROVE/HIGH. The missing released namespace is corrected, with focused source regression and real20-case CI in progress. Greptile completed its predecessor4752 review at3/5 and identified additional missing custom-element registration in standaloneStudio and combinedWASM entrypoints. This is a genuine source-acceptance blocker covering the same starter setup as adopted donorPR9; the minimal correction and generated-output coverage are in progress. Owned expensive supersededCI was cancelled. No merge or acceptance is claimed.

The inherited Monaco and production signing-key observations have byte-identical donor provenance, documented limitations and explicit operational handoff to #8741: #8741 (comment) . These are distinct from the bounded registration acceptance fix. #8748 remains the sole active Task; #8749 stays queued.

Current complete-registration head c8d670e1681661f9c8a8873b1c2e8819e4ec1edb passed the real20-case Templates lifecycle; the lead independently verified TRX, scoped restore graph and artifact digest. Evidence: #8750 (comment) . Fresh exact-head independent reviews approve. Broader CI/package proof and Greptile remain in progress; #8748 stays the sole active Task, In Progress / In Review / Running. Final #8749 source cutoff/main integration remains queued.

    Exact-head checkpoint for PR #8750 at c8d670e1681661f9c8a8873b1c2e8819e4ec1edb:

    • Templates native run38187935974: 20 total/executed/passed, zero failures or skips; downloaded TRX/restore graph and GitHub artifact digest independently verified.
    • Full mixed repository run38187935885: 103 project/framework result rows, 7,865 passed, 144 skipped, zero failures. Skips remain explicit.
    • Integration tools run38187936041: 978 tests under normal and optimized Python, four conditional skips each; 71 release contracts, 15 activity contracts and four compiler fixture tests under each mode also passed.
    • Six Apps image profiles and project build job passed, alongside solution grouping, Secrets source contract and source-impact selection. The conditional affected-test job was skipped; it is not represented as executed runtime coverage.
    • Mapped-source artifact run38187935861 passed. Independent downloaded-archive hashes/source pins/package identities agree and publication is false. This is the retained historical mapped Slack contract, not Templates runtime certification; its one known upstream test skip and skipped pinned-source/released-artifact jobs remain explicit.
    • Fresh independent Spec+Standards reviews APPROVE/HIGH and Greptile5/5 cover this exact head. Zero unresolved threads. CodeRabbit's exact-head completion and advisory dispositions are recorded; no Copilot override is claimed.

Only consolidated package proof run38187936003 remains in progress. Templates is still the sole active delivery Task; no merge or final acceptance is claimed. Final actual-main integration/source cutoff remains #8749, followed by bounded #8740 closeout. Operational authority remains #8741.

Accepted on the shared integration branch through normal merge PR #8750, merge 5403eda00557c20e39306863d53213afb7308e55. Lead independently verified ordered parents 1d5bc1e1deaba8f2d90920109061a3504a945106 / c8d670e1681661f9c8a8873b1c2e8819e4ec1edb and exact candidate tree d7d2d2e89c905f1ed9374fd163897778bfdcbce6.

Original import retains all65 mapped assets/modes/blobs,41 original commits and17 recorded refs, including relevant3.8.0/3.9.0 history. Original PR9 and author are retained, with its applicable registration fix applied separately; all five Studio starter entrypoints now register custom elements. Donor issue3 remains an unresolved attributed report. Neither donor item was automatically closed.

Independent build/pack boundary and existing Elsa.Templates3.9.0 identity/three commands are preserved. Embedded projects remain data; root Core pack inventory excludes Templates. Real native exact-head pack/install/generate/assert/build ran20/20 cases, zero failures/skips. Earlier failed4752 and passed02ee results are retained separately; they are not substituted for currentc8d evidence.

Exact-head independent Spec+Standards APPROVE/HIGH, Greptile5/5, current advisory disposition, zero unresolved threads, and all21 successful checks/three conditional skips passed. Full repository suite:7,865 passed/144 skipped/zero failed. Package proof:232 packages/132 exclusions,464 archive hashes independently verified, clean representative consumer onnet8/9/10 and6admissioncells, publicationfalse. Final gate and artifact digest.

All four donors were refreshed immediately before merge, with no arrivals or changed recorded ref/contribution identities. Product docs record unsupported legacy standalone inputs and unverified options. Inherited Monaco/browser and production signing-key uncertainties remain explicitly documented under #8741; full release/publisher/Templates release work stays with #8725/#8741. No publication/deployment/archival or full runtime certification is claimed.

This closes the source slice and its Templates Feature on shared. #8749 now owns final source/history audit, contributor guidance, cutoff and reviewed actual-main integration; #8740 remains open until those outcomes are verified on main.
