- Briefly read through ER: Events page continuously loading video #4370 and Refactor HTML displaying video without iframe #6353 to understand the video POST request issue and research into causes/solutions
- In
_includes/events-page/header-container-content.html, locate the code that includes the video and verify if the method for displaying the video still needs to be changed - Test the live Events page to see if the POST requests are still being sent. If you are not using a Mac, you may need to solicit help from other developers to test in that OS (The website Slack channel is a good resource for this).
- Write a comment on this issue explaining your findings and if there is a need for another issue to change the video display method.
- Add the
ready for merge teamlabel to this issue

Emergent Requirement - Problem
When you visit the events page, the client intermittently fires off
POSTrequests involving the Jennifer Pahlka video that is displayed (embedded?) on the page. On my browser, the loading circle continues for a few minutes before stopping.See screenshot
This problem appears to occur only on MacOS. See comment below for Slack discussion regarding this problem.

What happens if this is not addressed
Confusing user experience with continuous loading circle around favicon. Using extra bandwidth is a wasteful. If you have a slow internet connection, it can cause extra lag.
