New Features

  • Music is now downloaded separately. This means you only have to do this once and then you have the music for all future releases. This reduces the download size from 900MB to 180MB, as recently music has grown a lot. Furthermore music extraction from C&C TD, RA1, RA2, YR and Tiberian Sun has been added.

Bug Fixes

  • Yuri and Chinese Power Plants had the status bar of their ability always visible. This bug is now fixed and status bars only show when the unit is selected.
  • Sync logging fixed so that desync errors can be tracked better.
  • Fix MLRS promotion tree.
  • Fix GDI Battle Tank promotion tree.
  • Fix Disruptor promotion tree.

Bug Fixes

  • Ruiner and Stormrider had wrong prerequisites allowing to see or build units that should not be available.
  • Chinese Internet Center displayed 5 slots when actually 10 could enter.
  • For observers the actor icon of selected units was very small.
  • Fix rtnk crash.
  • For low screen resolutions the new commander tree was cut off. Now there is also a horizontal scrollbar added when the screen is too small.
  • V3 and other ballistic missiles were not dealing damage. This is now fixed.
  • Firestorm Barrage of the Upgrade Center did not fire missiles (impact just happened without projectiles).
  • Repair icon for buildings was at the top right. It is now correctly centered.
  • Fix hosp crash.

A last minute fix on new years eve solved desyncs we had in some test games but then it deactivated the whole freeActor functionality (which delivers Harvesters and other things).

This is a fast fix for this bug and another bug that stopped you from right clicking on crates.

Welcome back, Commander!

This Update has really taken long and the reason is we have switched the engine!
Of course we are still OpenRA, but in the past we had the engine of Combined Arms with some changes. Another OpenRA Mod, Cameo, has used this engine as well. Then they have switched this year to another engine, which is from Romanov's Vengeance, another great openRA mod. Since YMCA and Cameo work together and help each other it makes sense to use the same engine, so I decided to port to their engine. It is not a complete flip of everything, since RV-engine as well as CA-engine both use a lot of the AS stuff from Graion Dilach and both depend on OpenRA. Still it was a lot of work and also my CA-fork was quite old and did not have the newest OpenRA stuff (this might have been the biggest part). So now we are modern and cool, which should help with a lot of things.

So please because of this big change of the underlying foundation a lot of things might break. I tried to fix as much as possible before releasing, but there will be things I have not seen. So please report back and let me know if stuff breaks or has problems. I will fix asap.

Let's get to the fun part!

What's new?

  • I have reworked all Commander Tree (Promotions) and added generic upgrades to all factions. In the past only China had this and it was slowly creeping into other factions with upgrades like Shielded Miners and similar things. Now we find this for all factions and not just 1 or 2.

  • But to make things even greater, the Commander Promotions have now their own dedicated window in the style of C&C Generals. You can see all options now and make informed decisions. Over are the times of a very hidden build menu on the right, where you only knew what you unlock if you already played a lot and have a good memory.

  • Many units were changed, updated and got new upgrades. I won't list all those changes here, these are very many and left to you to explore. In most cases I tried to fix units that were rarely used because they were so weak.

  • Another great thing that comes with the engine update is Custom Formations, which only the Cameo mod has integrated and I have improved it a bit. With this feature it is now possible to make a formation attack move. To make it work just use the attack move as previously but then hold the mouse button and drag it along a line. The units will then go to this line and try to keep together.

  • Stealth effects have been reworked and should look a lot cooler now!

  • And last but not least: The mod has its own music now. Every faction has its own music that fits the theme of the faction. The music player has been enhanced and there you can pick what music you want to listen to, so even if you like the soviet music more but want to play Allies, you can select it that way with the custom button. You can also decide you don't want the new music and just listen to the oldschool C&C music.
