Go To: lists the named ranges of every sheet and the references entered, and goes to several at once - #2414
GridCraft's Go To dialog listed every defined name by its bare name, hidden names, constants and formulas included, so a name scoped to another sheet was looked up on the active sheet, where it failed or found another name with the same text. It kept no references, a double-click did not go, and the Reference box rejected B14:C22,F19:G30 and Price, Type with "Reference isn't valid." Microsoft's Find named ranges page says "The Go to popup window shows named ranges on every worksheet in your workbook", "In the Go to box, double-click the named range you want to find", "The Go to box keeps track of ranges as you enter them, and you can return to any of them by double-clicking", and "You can enter multiple named ranges or cell references in the Reference box. Separating each with a comma ... Excel will highlight all the ranges."
Changes
edit.goTo splits the reference at commas outside quoted sheet names and parentheses and selects every area. A name that refers to several areas selects them all, and Sheet2!Name goes to the name scoped to Sheet2. Areas on two sheets, or a part that is not a reference, return "Reference isn't valid." and leave the selection as it was.
edit.goTo {list: true} returns {names, recent}. With record: true, a reference that holds no name is kept in recent, each area with its sheet (Sheet1!B14:C22,Sheet1!F19:G30). The Go To dialog's OK sends record: true, and the Name Box does not.
The Go To dialog lists the named ranges, then the recent references. A double-click on an entry goes there.
docs/ui-parity.md gets a Dialogs sentence, the header's Last updated date and Change list, and a revision history row. ROADMAP.md gets a progress log row.
The page does not say which names count as named ranges, how a name scoped to another sheet is shown, in what order names are listed, or how many references the box keeps. GridCraft's own rules: hidden names, constants and formulas are left out; a name scoped to another sheet appears as Sheet2!Name, and the active sheet's own name hides the workbook name it shares; names are in alphabetical order; the dialog keeps the last ten references, newest first, and does not keep names among them; areas on two sheets are rejected, one Go To selects at most 2,000 areas, and the Name Box does not add to the list.
Tests
go_to_lists_the_named_ranges_of_every_sheet checks the list from Sheet1 and from Sheet2, without the hidden name, the constant and the formula.
go_to_a_name_scoped_to_another_sheet_goes_to_that_sheet checks Sheet2!Local and a name of two areas.
go_to_selects_every_reference_and_name_in_a_list checks references, names and sheet-qualified references separated by commas, and that four invalid inputs leave the selection alone.
go_to_keeps_the_references_entered_newest_first checks the order, that names and calls without record are not kept, going back from another sheet, and the limit of ten.
go_to_reads_the_parts_of_a_long_reference_one_at_a_time checks the split at commas outside quoted sheet names and parentheses, the 2,000-area limit, and that a reference with an invalid first part and a million commas is rejected.
tests/it/go_to_dialog.rs has 2 egui_kittest tests: a double-click on Sheet2!Local goes to Sheet2 and closes the dialog, and a reference entered with Enter is listed the next time and a double-click returns to it from another sheet.
The first four engine tests do not build on main, which has no GO_TO_RECENT. On this branch, with the comma split, the Sheet2!Name label and the recent list broken together, all four fail. Both UI tests fail on main: the dialog lists the constant Rate and lists Local instead of Sheet2!Local, and the Reference box rejects B14:C22,F19:G30, so the selection stays at A1.
Before the gate, these targeted checks were run: cargo fmt --all -- --check, cargo clippy -p gridcraft-engine -p gridcraft-ui-egui --all-targets -- -D warnings, cargo test -p gridcraft-engine, cargo test -p gridcraft-ui-egui, cargo xtask assets, cargo xtask layers, cargo xtask parity --check and cargo xtask keytips --check. cargo test -p gridcraft-ui-egui stopped at the it binary on one failure, header_autofit::table_filter_autofit_works_through_command_and_header_double_click, which also fails on main at 72c1d57 on this machine, so the keytips tests and doc tests did not run there (the gate runs them).
Checks
On Windows 11 (x86-64) with rustc 1.99.1, on top of main at 72c1d57, with #2273 merged in:
cargo xtask ci passes its 10 steps: 2,275 tests passed, 0 failed, 1 ignored.
#2273 fixes header_autofit::table_filter_autofit_works_through_command_and_header_double_click. Without #2273, cargo xtask ci stops at its test step on that test.
git merge-tree reports no conflicts with main at 72c1d57. With #2410 merged, docs/ui-parity.md conflicts in the header's Last updated / Change list and the top revision row; both sides are kept.

New Features
Go To now lists eligible named ranges from all sheets, including sheet-qualified names, alongside recently visited references.
Select an entry to fill the reference field, or double-click it to navigate immediately.
Enter multiple comma-separated names or references to navigate to several areas at once. Recent references appear newest first.
Documentation
Updated the interface guide with the Go To dialog’s expanded options.
…ed, and goes to several at once
The Go To dialog lists the named ranges of the workbook and of every
sheet, a name scoped to another sheet as Sheet2!Name, without hidden
names, constants or formulas. After them it lists the references
entered in the dialog, newest first, and a double-click on an entry
goes there.
edit.goTo takes several names or references separated by commas
(Price, Type or B14:C22,F19:G30) and selects them all, follows a name
that refers to several areas, and goes to Sheet2!Name on Sheet2. With
record: true it keeps a reference that holds no name among the recent
ones, and with list: true it returns the names and the recent
references.
The Go To command now resolves and lists named ranges and supports comma-separated references. The dialog displays names and recent references, and records confirmed references for later navigation.

Merge Risk: Low · up to 983d3
Go To may feel slow in workbooks with many defined names, but the identified cost does not block navigation. This is mergeable with a follow-up to cache the entries.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to 983d3
The expanded navigation remains within the current workbook, without an identified new privileged action. Limited uncertainty remains around failed cross-sheet navigation and recent references after sheet changes.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — For the inspected navigation paths, workbook-controlled names and link targets can influence sheet selection, selected areas, and document-local navigation history. No new tenant, service, credential, or external-resource authority was identified in those paths.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The resolver rejects mixed-sheet selections and limits selection to 2,000 areas and recursive name traversal to depth eight. Reference splitting is lazy, allowing rejection without splitting all remaining input. These constrain resolution work but do not establish a general authorization boundary.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — Successful resolution does not guarantee failure-atomic selection changes: selection_set switches sheets before checking target selectability, so a protected-target error can leave the active sheet changed. This ordering already existed for explicit cross-sheet references at the base. Richer targets reuse it, but no additional protected-data access or mutation authority was demonstrated, so it is not retained as an introduced security concern.

Build the Go To entry list once when the dialog opens, not on every frame.
go_to runs on every UI frame while the dialog is open. Each frame calls go_to_names, which runs name_areas for every defined name. name_areas splits and recursively resolves each name's formula without caching. Each frame also clones go_to_recent. A workbook with thousands of names (common in imported files) pays this cost on every repaint. A name chain that resolves to many areas makes each call more expensive.
Compute the list once in Dialog::open for "goTo", and store it in d.result. The list cannot change while the modal dialog is open, so this is safe. Then read it in go_to.
