How can you help RapidFTR ?

Listed below are the technical and non-technical roles through which you can contribute. You can choose to contribute in any area below, as per your interests and expertise.

Developer

Developers can check out the following tasks on the Development wall in Mingle

  1. Feature Components
  2. Fix Defects
  3. Tech Debts
  4. Technical Tasks

Tester / Quality Analyst

Manual Testing

  1. Look up the Mingle Development Wall for stories in Ready for QA lane and can sign them up
  2. Test the application
    - Testing mobile app – Download the Android APK and test the various features of the application. Log defects if functionality does not work as per requirements
    - Testing Web App – Start a local instance of your rails server at http://localhost:3000/login or play around with the app in https://dev.rapidftr.com/login and start testing.
    - Do a random sanity test OR test to ensure acceptance criteria of stories are met. Create defect cards and tag these as ‘public’. If you need help with ‘tagging’ or creating a Mingle defect card please refer Mingle Help or write to [email protected]

Automated Testing

  1. Look up the list of stories in the ‘Ready Lane’ in the “Automation Wall” in Mingle
  2. Sign-up for the story that you want to automate by moving the card to the ‘In Progress’ lane
  3. Remember to use these pointers on automation

Business Analyst (BA)

  1. Check out stories on the Mingle Development Wall, and improve the story description or acceptance criteria, etc.
  2. Drop an email to RapidFTR group, and pick up a new feature for discussion, analysis and story writing.
  3. Help in Evangelising RapidFTR, Code Jams, and in ramping up new volunteers to RapidFTR.

Documentation

  1. Identify gaps in existing documentation (Wiki / RapidFTR.com / Manuals)
  2. Create or update wiki documentation
  3. Create or update user or operation manuals
